Editorial Policy

These are the standards every game page and guide on Dog Arcade is written and reviewed against.

Our purpose

We publish content that helps people find, understand and enjoy the games on Dog Arcade. That includes game instructions, tips, category overviews and guides to arcade skills and browser games. The test for every page is simple: would a real player find it genuinely useful?

Standards

  • Original: Every page is written for Dog Arcade. We don't copy other sites' text, and we don't publish pages that just repeat another page with a few words swapped.
  • Accurate to the games: Instructions, controls, scoring details and difficulty descriptions match how our games actually work. When a game changes, its page is updated.
  • No fabrication: We don't invent statistics, studies, expert quotes, player counts, rankings, awards, reviews or testimonials. We don't claim to be the "biggest" or "most popular" anything.
  • Useful over long: We don't pad pages to reach a word count. If something can be said in one paragraph, we say it in one.
  • Clear scope: We write about games and gaming technique. We don't give dog training, veterinary or behavioural advice. See the disclaimer.
  • Family-friendly: Content is suitable for a general audience.

Use of tools

We may use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help draft, check or edit text and code. Tools don't publish anything on their own. A person on our team reviews, edits and checks every page against our games and these standards before it goes live. We take full responsibility for everything we publish.

Independence and advertising

When advertising runs on the site, it is shown in clearly separated ad spaces labelled "Advertisement". Advertisers don't influence which games we make, what we write or how we describe our games. We don't accept payment for guide content. We don't place ads where they could be mistaken for game controls, navigation or download buttons.

Updates and dates

Guides and game pages show when they were last updated. We review content when games change, when readers report issues, and periodically to keep it clear and current.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Report errors through the contact page. Minor fixes such as typos and broken links are corrected directly. If a correction changes the meaning of advice or instructions, we update the page and its date. How we check facts is described in the fact-checking policy.

Who is responsible
