How to Master Collecting Games
Collecting well is about routes, not speed. How to scan, plan paths, chain combos and handle hazards in Dog Arcade's collecting games.
Every yard hides a pile of bones and the clock is running. Dash between bushes and puddles, chain quick pickups into a combo and reach the bone target before time runs out.

Bone Collector is a top-down collecting game set in a fenced backyard. Each level gives you a bone target and a time limit. Level 1 asks for 10 bones and each level adds three more, with one or two extra bones needed on Medium and Hard. The time limit grows with the target, but it is tighter on the harder settings.
A normal bone is worth 10 points and a golden bone 30, both multiplied by your combo. Every three pickups in quick succession raise the multiplier by one, up to x5. The small bar under the counter shows how long you have for the next pickup: about 2.4 seconds on Easy, 2.1 on Medium and 1.8 on Hard. Clearing a level also adds 5 points for every second left on the clock.
Bushes and rocks block your path, and puddles slow you down. Sprinklers start rolling across the yard from level 2, and bees join in from level 3 (from level 1 on Hard). Touching either stuns your dog for a moment, costs 2, 3 or 4 seconds depending on difficulty and resets your combo. Every level adds more obstacles and faster hazards. Every so often a power-up appears for a few seconds: the magnet pulls nearby bones to you and the lightning bolt gives a short burst of extra speed.
The game ends with a victory screen after level 5. Your best score for each difficulty is saved in your browser.
Five. Clearing level 5 shows the victory screen with your final score.
Waiting too long between pickups or getting stung by a bee or soaked by a sprinkler.
