How to Play

  1. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard and press Play.
  2. Walk close to a lost puppy (the ones with a white ring and a heart) and it starts following you.
  3. Collect more puppies and they form a line behind you, following the exact path you walked.
  4. Bring them into the glowing circle in front of the dog house to rescue them. A yellow arrow near your dog points the way home.
  5. Avoid toy cars, rolling barrels and bees. Ponds and hedges block your way.
  6. Rescue every puppy to finish the level. Clear all five levels to win.

Game Tips

  • Delivering several puppies at once earns a group bonus, but a single hit sends the whole line back. Take bigger groups only when the route home is quiet.
  • Your puppies walk exactly where you walked, and only you can be hit, so you can cross a road quickly without worrying about the line behind you.
  • Cars and barrels always keep to their lanes. Wait at the edge of a lane, watch one pass, then cross right behind it.
  • Bees fly back and forth along a fixed line. Time your crossing for when a bee is at the far end.
  • After a hit you restart at the level's starting spot with two seconds of blinking protection, and your puppies return to where you found them.
  • Finishing a level quickly earns a time bonus, so plan a route before you set off.

About This Game

Puppy Rescue is a top-down rescue game with five hand-built levels: Backyard Search, Quiet Street, Barrel Hill, Pond Park and Town Block. The first level has three puppies and a single slow bee. Later levels add roads with toy cars, dirt tracks with rolling barrels, groups of ponds you have to walk around and, in the final level, a ring road with cars driving around a block that has puppies waiting in the middle.

Scoring

Each rescued puppy is worth 100 points. Bringing more than one home at the same time adds a group bonus of 75 points for every extra puppy. Clearing a level quickly also gives a time bonus of 10 points for every second under that level's target time.

Lives and difficulty

If a car, barrel or bee touches your dog, you lose a life, every puppy following you runs back to where you found it, and you start again from the level's starting point. You get five lives on Easy and three on Medium and Hard. The difficulty setting also changes how fast the cars, barrels and bees move: slower than normal on Easy and faster on Hard.

The trailing line of puppies is the heart of the game. The longer the line, the more you have to lose, so part of the challenge is deciding when to head home. Your best score for each difficulty is saved in your browser.

Features

  • Five hand-built levels with different layouts
  • Puppies follow you in a line along your path
  • Toy cars, rolling barrels, bees, ponds and hedges
  • Group and time bonuses
  • Direction arrow that points home
