Puppy Maze builds a new maze for every level using a randomly seeded generator, so no two games are the same. There are eight levels, and the mazes grow from a small 7 by 4 grid to a 19 by 10 labyrinth. From level 3 onward a few extra openings create loops, and moving critters appear.
Scoring: each bone is worth 25 points, clearing a maze gives 100, and collecting every bone in a maze adds 50 more. The time bonus is 10 points for every second you finish under the par time. Par is based on the length of the shortest route and is more generous on Easy.
The critters are placed so the mazes stay fair. A critter patrols a side path without bones and only crosses one square of the routes you need. You can always wait next to that square and slip past. Touching a critter sends you back to the start of the maze but does not take away bones you already hold.
Your best total score is saved in your browser for each difficulty.
Yes. Each maze is generated from a new random seed when the level starts, so layouts, bones and critter routes change every game.
The puppy goes back to the start of the current maze. Bones you have already collected stay collected and the timer keeps running.
No. There are no lives. Every maze can be finished, and your score depends on bones collected and how quickly you reach each door.
